We’ve tended to alternate between recording at home in Australia and recording overseas. Off the back of our debut record, Moonfire, recorded in Nashville, Tennessee we decided to take a more homegrown approach and record our next album in Australia. We worked out of a studio below the offices of iconic Australian publishing company, Albert’s, in a studio that had been converted from office spaces. One of the challenges when recording a band is to capture the performance of the band playing, but with enough isolation between sounds that you can turn up something like Dave’s voice or guitar, without turning up the whole band. Here Dave sits in a side room getting ready to track his acoustic guitar.
